Feministas : Queens of controversy

Unsolicited Tip for the day: If you want to make a buzzzzzz in SM, write or say something controversial. Make sure there's an existing deep divide over that topic. In no time random people will be abusing you and each other.
In pop media, feminists have often been portrayed as men hating women with dorky glasses and probably a stache too. Why not, since men were creating/writing these characters. They must have been like I'm going to make the pretty ones dumb (she has got to be dumb for she has to love dbags) and not so pretty ones as intelligent and men hating creatures. Also add some annoying characteristic like a high pitch voice to the intelligent one. #foreveralonehenceafeminist
The feminist brand has been diluted, some on purpose and some accidental, to the extent that there's a negative connotation to it. The league of uber urban feminists are partly responsible for it with their frivolous issues. Free the nipples, glitter unshaved pits, sexual empowerment not excluding promiscuity, are few of the infamous ones. While I may shake my head in disbelief, or even laugh at some of them, I am immensely happy that there are a few women on this planet who were not killed in the womb, have not faced any sort of violence domestic or otherwise, probably had access to decent education & job opportunities. Their only problem in life is that they feel pressured to shave their armpits or sleep with only one partner or wear a bra outdoors. You go girl! These women don't want to be equal to men, but they want to be men.
Honey men are dicks because they have one, what will be your excuse?

Oops We Did it Again

What happens when you run around in circles? You get nowhere and if you're on earth a year passes by. We're back where it all started. After a round of lockdowns, aggressive tracing, testing and treating, government throwing up its hand in defeat, the virus magically diminishing from the population, we have arrived at the doorstep of another round of lockdowns. We went from tracking COVID numbers to tracking vaccinations and back to watching COVID cases quadruple every week. But this time, the government machinery is focussed on vaccinating the most vulnerable population, they might not even have the bandwidth to set up another trace, test, treat task force. But do take comfort in the fact that there won't be any vessels bangings even. On Social Media we have gone from questioning the number of cases & death reported to questioning our vaccine choices to cribbing the vaccination pace is no good and now we're again trying to find pictures of every cremation in this c...

Je suis Charlie ou Je suis Ahmed ou Je ne suis Charlie! Qui suis-je?

Je suis Charlie ou Je suis Ahmed ou Je ne suis Charlie! Qui suis-je? The shooting in Paris last week that shook the world, resurfaced the modern day debate on Islam and its follower. The twitter world was flooded with the hash tag #JeSuisCharlie subsequently followed by #JeNeSuisCharlie and then finally yielding to #JeSuisAhmed. It is one of those incidents that shake you up completely. In a world probably immune to the atrocities carried out by the likes of ISIS & BOKO HARAM in bulk, shooting a few cartoonists by some loony extremists shouldn't surprise us. Even if it doesn't surprise us, it should shock us. This didn't happen in a conflict zone or in a politically unstable region. The attack wasn't carried out by an organized militant/terrorist foreign group. It is scary that in a crowded, lively city of a stable country with a decent judicial system, 3 of its citizens just decided that a certain group of people doesn’t deserve to live. What is...

A Picture

A picture can be a photo on your desk, a painting on your wall or maybe a movie to watch with friends. It can also be an image or an impression drawn with inks in our head. A picture can evoke emotions or stir memories, remind you of ones you longer know. It can be a time capsule of an era bygone or just a few moments ago. A picture my dear friends speaks a thousand words and still some more. This otherwise nondescript wall seems to convey the world of opposites as we know them - the dilapidated and the new!
